The Club has ten exciting meetings coming up this fall plus our annual awards banquet in February.
On September 7, Auburn Athletic Director Jay Jacobs will get our season started. On September 14, legendary former Auburn head coach Pat Dye will be with us. On September 21, University of Alabama Athletic Director Mal Moore will be our guest. We close out the month of September with a visit on September 28 from former University of Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr. Coach Carr led the Wolverines to the 1997 national championship.
October starts off with Dr. Gaylon McCollough on the 5th. Dr. McCollough played on Alabama's 1964 national championship team and has written a book about Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. On October 12th, Texas Tech University President Guy Bailey will be with us. Dr. Bailey is a native of Montgomery and is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and the University of Alabama. On October 19th, Troy Head Coach Larry Blakeney will be our speaker. We close out October with our three local college head coaches speaking. Coach Mike Turk from Huntingdon, Coach Reggie Barlow from Alabama State, and Coach Gregg Baker will all speak to us on October 26.
Our final two meetings of the regular season will be on November 2 and November 9. On the 2nd, former Alabama head coach Bill Curry will be our speaker. Coach Curry is currently the head coach at Georgia State University in Atlanta. On the 9th, former Tennessee head coach Johnny Majors will speak. Coach Majors led Pittsburgh to the 1976 national championship.
Our Annual Awards Banquet will be on February 8. Auburn team chaplain Chette Williams will be our guest speaker.

This season we will once again award a public school and private school player of the week. Nomination packages and instruction will go out to river region head coaches in mid August.
Each week, we invite the winners, their families and their head coach to join us. Each player is awarded a trophy sponsored by Mrs. Virginia Whitfield in memory of her son, Frank Whitfield, Jr. The Club appreciates the support of Mrs. Whitfield.
At the conclusion of the season we give scholarships to our Private School and Public School Player of the Year.
